The Triangle is a special place to work, join our play worker team and help the young people of Lambeth fulfil their potential. Over the years we have had a wide range of play workers of all ages, bringing different skills and talents to play, enhancing the Triangle experience for all. Many students find playwork the perfect way to work in London whilst still having time to study.
No specific skills required, just the right playful attitude and respect for our young people. We will arrange a DBS and will support you in gaining training and qualifications.

Based at Triangle Adventure Playground, Ashmole Street, London SW8 1NE
To provide support and assistance in the day to day operation of the Triangle Adventure Playground To undertake face to face work with children in delivering play activities.
Relationships
Work in a team with other play workers. Responsible to Senior Play Worker.
Duties
Assist in the operation of the adventure playground, implementing children’s ideas in constructing play structures and encouraging the users to take part in both physical activity and creative play.
Plan and oversee a varied programme of games and activities in conjunction with colleagues
Supervise, lead and assist children and young people in activities and games whilst encouraging appropriate behaviour in accordance with playground policies and procedures
Work to ensure the adventure playground is accessible and engaging for children from all backgrounds, of all relevant age groups and of all abilities.
Focus on the needs of the children and young people who use the adventure playground and design projects which encourage healthy development.
Assist in publicising the play scheme
Assist with the setting out and clearing up of Playground equipment
Assist with preparing and serving of refreshments to children and young people
Take responsibility, with other staff members, for following the Playground’s registration and departure procedures
Take responsibility, along with other staff members, for the health and safety, accident prevention, risk management and smooth running of emergency procedures for children, young people and other members of staff
Understand and follow the Association’s Child Protection Policy and Procedures
Carry out administrative and financial record keeping in line with the Associations agreed procedures
Help to keep the playground clean and to contribute to the maintenance of the playground and the playground’s equipment
Ensure that parents, carers and other visitors are made to feel welcome on visiting the playground and that they receive appropriate information and advice
Take part in staff meetings and programme planning meetings
Take part in staff training as offered
Carry out any reasonable requests from the Senior Playworker and members of the Association’s Management Committee
Hours of work: Workers are needed 3pm to 6.45pm; Monday to Friday; during school term time and 11:30 to 7 during school holidays (excluding Bank Holidays)
Pay rate:
TRIAL 5 SHIFTS - London living wage £11.05 per hour
SESSIONAL PLAYWORKER rate - £11.55 per hour
SESSIONAL PLAYWORKER rate after 12 months - £12.60 per hour
includes an allowance for holiday pay.
Criminal Records Bureau clearance essential. Two referees required. One to be most recent employer.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
We are interested in people with any of the following qualities
NVQ2 play or youth work or equivalent
Experience of working with children aged 6 to 17
Experience of working with children outside.
Experience of Adventure Play
Able to manage behaviour in a positive way
Able to motivate children
Relate well to children aged 6 to 17
Reliable
Able to use initiative
Creative
Flexible
